The West Texas Region covers a 42-county area and serves Midland, Odessa, El Paso, Abilene and San Angelo. You can share in the magic!
Become a "wish granter" and help grant wishes for children in your area.
To earn your fairy wings, attend a four-hour training session and have a background check. Here are some examples of what wish granters do:
- Partner with another wish granter to interview the wish child and help discover his/her wish.
- Serve as a liaison between the family and office staff.
- Complete necessary wish-related paperwork
- Make arrangements for wish enhancements to make the child say "WOW!"
Be a Volunteer!
- Organize an event with your business, church, civic group or youth group.
- Volunteer at Make-A-Wish events to help with registration, set up, decorations, refreshments and invitations.
- Represent the Foundation at expos and exhibits.
Make arrangements for staff to attend speaking engagements — or be the speaker!
Research and cultivate prospective donors and sponsorship.
Lend a hand with "behind-the-scenes" operations
- General office help of answering the phones, making copies, and correspondence.
- Help with special projects such as scrap booking, display boards, delivery of donor appreciation gifts, preparing mailings, copying videos, and mixing fairy dust (secret recipe).
- Volunteer professional services such as computer consultation, graphic design, interior decorating, illustration, catering, creative writing, photography and videography.
- Assist at various special events by volunteering day-of or by sitting on a committee
