The office serves a 19 county area including the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Grapevine, Wichita Falls and surrounding areas.
You can help us as we continue to grow and reach even more children in our community!
Become a “wish granter” and help grant wishes:
Earning your fairy wings is simple! All you have to do is send in a volunteer application (with a background check) and then attend a four-hour training session. In this class, you’ll learn everything you need to know to help a child’s wish come true. Here are some examples of what wish granters do:
- Partner with other wish granter to interview the wish child and help discover his or her wish
- Serve as a liaison between the family and Make-A-Wish staff
- Complete necessary wish related paperwork
- Make arrangements for wish enhancements to make each child say “WOW”! It’s your job to make each wish personal and special!
Volunteer to help with Events and Fundraising:
- Organize an event with your church, business, civic group, youth group or school
- Volunteer at Make-A-Wish events and help with registration, set up decorations, refreshments, and invitations
- Help us by representing the Foundation at expos and exhibits
- Make arrangements for staff to attend speaking engagements. You can also join our Speaker’s Bureau and give speeches on behalf of the Foundation
- Research and help us cultivate prospective donors and sponsorships
(Current Annual Events include Walk for Wishes, our annual 5K walk/run held in the fall)
Lend a hand with “behind–the-scenes” operations:
- Help with general office duties such as answering phones, making copies, etc.
- Help out with projects such as scrapbooking, stuffing envelopes, or making copies of videos
- Volunteer professional services such as graphic design, catering, creative writing, photography or videography
- Help us locate in-kind resources for wishes, such as specialty cakes for parties, pizza, balloons, scrapbooks, etc.
- Organize a toy drive to help stock our toy closet
