I Wish to Have a Yellow Lab Named Angel!
Seven-year-old Nathan wanted a yellow lab dog because “dogs are his favorite.” The dog was going to be named “Angel” because, according to Nathan, angels look out for little boys. Wishgranters worked hard to make his once-in-a-lifetime wish come true. Months ago they located just the right female lab. But Nathan had to be patient because Angel also was being trained to do tricks.
Nathan had obviously researched how to take care of a dog because he was quite specific about the things he needed: a dog bowl, pillow, chew toys, food and water bowls, of course. Wishgranters arrived at his house with a specially decorated cake topped with a frosting dog, bearing a remarkable resemblance to Angel. Then in walked Angel herself. The first thing Nathan did, after hugging her, was give her a tour of his house, especially the pillow resting right next to his bed.
Although Nathan is now cancer-free, he remembered what it was like to be in the hospital. His plan is to take Angel to the hospital to visit other children on the cancer floor. He hopes to ask Angel to do tricks to amuse all the young patients. Nathan received the dog of his dreams, a dream that will require his love and attention for many years to come. It was a very special night for the whole family. As Nathan’s older brother said, “You have changed my brother’s life right side up!”
