How to Volunteer

  1. Volunteer application: Please print a copy of the online volunteer application (37KB, requires Acrobat Reader). Complete the application, sign it and return the form to our offices via U.S. Mail along with a $25.00 check to cover application costs. If this fee is prohibitive, please attach a note stating so. No one will be denied application due to inability to pay the processing fee.

  2. Background check: The application process takes two to three weeks to complete. Because we work with children, we will run a background check and follow up with verification of your references. Specifically, we are concerned with any legal history in regard to child abuse or fraud. All information in this application and background check will remain confidential and be used only for screening purposes.

  3. Begin making wishes come true: Once your application has been successfully screened, you will be personally contacted by our office and will receive a monthly copy of our volunteer newsletter, Wishline. Volunteer opportunities will be listed in the newsletter. Be sure to let us know what you want to do. We'll put you to work!

  4. Check out current needs: Please check our Web site and Wishline on a regular basis for new volunteer opportunities. We encourage you to contact us as soon as you find something that interests you.
