I Wish to Produce a CD
Behind the music, behind the band, behind the scene,
behind the wish … behind “Code Pink”
Eleven-year-old Erin always had music to get her through the hard times of dealing with a life-threatening medical condition. The first day Erin met with her wishgranters, she knew immediately what her wish would be…to write, produce and record her own album with her two best friends, Christina, Gina and her little sister Kelly. It was also important to Erin that a part of her wish would include a live performance.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of North Texas, utilizing the help of veteran songwriter, Colin Boyd helped Erin refine their songs “You Wish” and “So Many Questions” so they came alive to music. After months of working on their songs, Code Pink was ready to take the next big step – a venture into the studio.
The band spent one entire day in the recording studio with producer Nick Seely. Nick pushed the band to make sure each and every note was just as Erin had imagined it. Finally, after eight hours of working, Erin and the band had recorded two songs that are destined to be hits!

Code Pink’s music was ready for release but they still need the right “rock star” look for the cover of the CD. The band enjoyed an afternoon of shopping at Limited Too with their very own stylist, searching for just the right outfits for their CD cover and live performance. A professional make-up artist then prepared the girls for their first professional photo shoot.
Finally, after months of hard work, Code Pink’s first CD, “You Wish” was produced and ready for debut. Dallas radio station, Mix 102.9 played the CD “live” and on the air. The radio audience called in with enthusiastic responses, being as touched by Erin’s magical experience as the music itself.
With the band’s first radio interview now history, the pop princess and her band were ready for their debut performance! On May 1, 2004, in front of an audience of more than 1,000 black-tie patrons at the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s signature gala, Erin and Code Pink brought down the house! The “power of a wish” makes every child a superstar.
