Candace
I Wish to Go to Walt Disney World!
Candace wanted to visit the “House of Mouse” – that means no other place in the world than Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Through the magic of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of North Texas and Disney Hand, the worldwide outreach for The Walt Disney Company, Candace had her every wish come true.
With toys and snacks to greet her each day at Give Kids the World Village, a magical place for wish children and their families, front row seats at all the shows and escorts to the “short lines,” it couldn’t have been better!
There were plenty of rides available for our special wish child. Candace got totally into the ice cream parlor open around the clock at Give Kids the World. Meeting Mickey and Minnie at breakfast was a huge thrill for Candace, with hugs and smiles the order of the day.
But there were other amusement parks to explore, and Candace did them all. Her second favorite (after Mickey and Minnie, of course) was Universal Studios where she saw the “Cat in the Hat.” Of course the dolphins at Sea World were a big hit, as well.
So many wonderful things to do and see, so many extraordinary people who made this possible, so many wonderful photographs, memories and souvenirs – all contributed to the “power of a wish” that will stay with Candace for the rest of her life. Her family will never forget their magical week when Candace’s wish came true.
